Employment: Full Time

Accountant / Previous family group experience

• Processes financial documents and data in an efficient and timely manner.
• Ensures reliability and integrity of financial reporting and management information systems for the department, ensuring that appropriate segregation of duties, access and controls are managed within the system.
• Conducts month-end and year-end close process by completing technical accounting process, ensuring adequate reconciliations from the general ledger to the management information system and to source data are completed and documented.
• Processes initial purchase, capital calls, distributions, sales and equity adjustments for various limited partnerships including the verification of funds received and the request for money movements/wires for capital calls on an ongoing basis.
• Computes monthly NAV adjustments on the investments portfolio by coordinating with the investments department for necessary documents and posts accurately in the system.
• Prepares complete and accurate Distributions Summaries for the investments portfolio (Revenue recognition).
• Maintains records of private equity investments portfolio such as client’s partnership agreements, subscription documents and other materials.
• Prepares journal entries and completes monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
• Responsible for the preparation of related party reconciliations and the resolution of outstanding matters.
• Ensures that all suppliers’ accounts are fully reconciled periodically.
• Receives and processes all payroll data input by the HR department including, but not limited to, new enrollments, changes, terminations, additions and deductions, leave advances and changes to banking information.
• Reviews invoices received and prepares payments by verifying documentation and processing disbursements in an efficient and timely manner and compiles all supporting documents for each transaction.
• Prepares monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts of the Group.
• Forecasts cash flow position and ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet on-going operational and capital investment requirements
• Liaises with banks on processing of transactions including resolution of delay of payments, bounced cheques and other inward and outward transactions related queries.
• Analyzes data and prepare internal month-end financial reports consistent with an understanding of the goals of the department. All reports are typed and free from errors.
• Provides cover for the preparation, validation and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
• Prepares supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external financial statement audits.
• Critical review of all systems and processes with a view to suggesting and implementing process improvements and controls, together with related documentation.
• Updates job knowledge by keeping current with financial regulations and accepted practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Requirements

You must have excellent computer skills with an understanding of spreadsheets, word processing, and database software (SAP Business One).

The Accountant should be well organized and have a strong ability to pay attention to detail. The Accountant must be able to communicate with others, identify problems, and resolve potential conflicts.

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
• Interest in investments and aptitude for financial calculations.
• Knowledge of IFRSs and a good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology and applied bases of accounting.
• Have a solid accounting software knowledge (SAP Business One).
• Have excellent Microsoft Office skills (particularly MS Excel & MS Word skills).
• VAT experience is preferable.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
