Accountant

Job description / Role

We are recruiting for a British-owned professional services business, which is looking to take on an experienced Accountant to handle all the accounting for the company. The successful candidate must ensure the integrity of Company’s accounting information by overseeing all components of the general ledger. Also be responsible for preparing financial reports in accordance with IFRS. The successful candidate will be required to perform all routine activities for the day to day operations of the company.

The position requires someone to be very hands-on, but also senior enough to report to the Partners directly.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly financial statements to include the monthly balance sheet, income statement and report on changes in financial position/budget variances and maintain related records.
• Maintain the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation, closing books monthly and setting up new accounts.
• Responsible for petty cash, AP and AR and banking activities
• Ensure compliance with IFRS
• Work with the compliance teams to ensure correct processes have been followed
• Prepare documents for annual external audit
• Provide financial analytical reports and KPI to management

Salary:
AED 12,000 to 15,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• CA qualified is preferred
• Audit background
• Accounting knowledge, including use of concepts and principles together with a minimum of two to five years’ post qualification experience
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in English
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
• Innovative problem solving techniques
