Accountant (Shipping Industry Experience Prefer)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a preference for candidates who have background in the shipping and logistics industry. The successful candidate will manage financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the financial operations of our shipping company based in Sharjah, UAE.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to support financial planning and budgeting.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Manage payroll processing and employee-related financial records.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Keep up to date with changes in financial regulations and accounting best practices relevant to the shipping and logistics sector.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within the shipping or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT laws, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines consistently.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
