Accountant

Job description / Role

TGC Consulting looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting operations for a UAE-based outsourcing/service organization. The role requires hands-on experience across accounting, payroll, VAT compliance, client billing, financial reporting, and audit coordination, with strong knowledge of UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations
• Manage the complete accounting cycle including AP, AR, GL, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end financial closings.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and proper financial documentation.
• Handle inter-company transactions and monthly reconciliations.

Payroll & WPS
• Process payroll for internal and outsourced employees.
• Prepare and submit WPS (SIF files) in compliance with UAE regulations.
• Calculate and account for employee provisions including gratuity, leave salary, and other statutory benefits as per UAE Labour Law.

VAT & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws and FTA requirements.
• Prepare, review, and file VAT returns and maintain proper VAT records.
• Support VAT audits and respond to FTA queries with accurate documentation.

Client Billing & Receivables
• Generate monthly client invoices based on contractual terms and attendance.
• Monitor receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Issue credit notes and perform regular client account reconciliations.

Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis
• Prepare financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, aging reports, and cost analysis.
• Monitor project profitability, staff cost ratios, and budget vs. actual performance.
• Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.

Audit & Internal Controls
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit schedules.
• Implement and maintain internal controls, reconciliations, and audit trails.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial best practices.

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, ACCA-qualified or ACCA-part qualified candidates preferred.
• 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience in the UAE (outsourcing/services experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, WPS, and Labour Law provisions.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, and Zoho Books.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
