Accountant - Maritime

Charterhouse is working in partnership with an International Shipping company, specialising in providing port services and logistics support to high-profile maritime clients. Our client is looking to hire a motivated Accountant to manage and provide oversight across financial operations, working at their Dubai office in collaboration with global teams.

The Accountant role will take ownership of providing comprehensive financial and accounting support to the regional team in Dubai. This will involve managing day-to-day accounting operations in compliance with regulatory standards, while offering strategic financial advice to senior management and providing insight into the company’s financial health. The Accountant will play an instrumental role in managing full-cycle accounting processes, preparing financial reports and maintaining financial records, as well as acting as a primary point of liaison with relevant authorities and stakeholders on financial matters.

Additionally, there will be close collaboration with cross-functional teams across the business to ensure accuracy of records and streamlined processes. Our client is looking for someone with a proven ability to handle dynamic business environments and who can demonstrate a strong analytical mindset.

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields and have a minimum of 5 years’ of experience, preferably working within a similar industry. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on ability to manage strong financial accounting tasks, combined with the ability to manage and develop reports. Our client would be looking to hire someone with an advanced Excel skillset, necessary for financial reporting and data management. Strong communication skills in English, and commercial skills to manage broad ranging internal relationships while providing strategic financial insights into business operations as required, would be essential for this role.
