Accounting Manager

Job description / Role

My client, a leader in their sector, are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead their accounting function, following their acquisition by a major, publicly listed, global business. This position is newly created as part of a significant expansion of their finance team, and will play a crucial role in leading and developing the junior members of staff.

Client Details

My client is a marine specialist, multinational organisation, who provide services to major global organisations. Their head office is in Sharjah, however they have offices in Abu Dhabi & across the Middle East & Europe.

Description

* Manage & oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including:
* Month and end-year process
* Accounts payable/receivable
* Cash receipts
* General ledger
* Payroll and utilities
* Treasury, budgeting
* Cash forecasting
* Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
* Capital assets reconciliations
* Trust account statement reconciliations,
* Check runs
* Consolidations
* Fixed asset activity
* Debt activity
* Foreign currency management
* Intercompany reconciliations
* Monitor & analyse accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
* Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
* Coordinate and complete annual audits
* Provide recommendations
* Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
* Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
* Meet financial accounting objectives
* Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Job Offer

In return, my client can offer a competitive package, including a total cash value of between 22,000 & 27,000 (depending on your level of qualification & experience) as well as family benefits.

Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate;

* Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
* Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
* Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
* Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to direct and supervise
* Bachelor's Degree as well as a professional Accounting qualification
* Previous experience in a marine logistics / oil and gas / marine survey organisation.
