Employment: Full Time

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Manager or Finance Manager to join their friendly market-leading regional practice for their offices in Dubai.

About the role

To provide competent accounting and auditing services to the firm and to ensure the smooth running of the accounts department.

Key responsibilities

• MIS reporting twice a month, month-end closing, profit and loss, fixed assets depreciation and prepayment schedules, accruals etc
• Managing 16 bank accounts (8 Office accounts for AED, USD, GBP, EUR) and (8 Client Accounts for AED, USD, GBP, EUR) reconciliation
• Preparing Statement of Accounts and Statement of Funds on account for client on request
• Correspondence with clients, managing their funds in accounts with the firm for their ongoing cases
• Other creditor’s payment allocation and cheques processing
• Finalizing invoices to clients for their work done, based on time spent and scope of work agreed in the engagement letters and on fixed fee basis
• Tracking and invoicing for disbursements and out of scope work
• DFSA (Dubai Financial Services Authority) audit preparations
• Conducting yearly audit
• Coordinating daily and monthly processing, reconciling, and closing
• Forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and all management reporting
• Preparing reliable monthly financial statements to support the monthly and quarterly reporting, variance analysis, and
• explanations
• Continually developing and improving management reports to support the financial decisions of the firm
• Establishing and improving workflows and business controls as needed to allow the firm to operate more efficiently
• Supervising and collaborating to execute daily accounting activities, including payroll and billing processes
• Reporting and filing VAT documents
• Preparing end of year accounts and schedules as required for VAT preparation; coordinating with auditing firms
• Assisting Partners with the administration of employee benefits and business insurance
• Managing Accounts Payable and Account Receivables
• Developing Accounting department procedures & improvements
• Periodic review of major firm expenses and recommendations to partners on cost-savings measures
• Constructing and monitoring reliable control systems
• Monitoring cash balances, cash needs and forecasts

Requirements

Skills and experience

• Good standard of education; an accounting qualification is desirable
• A minimum of 2 years experience as an accountant ideally with experience in a law firm with experience in accounts receivable
• Knowledge of the MENA markets is desirable
• Experienced running accounts from A to Z
• Experienced dealing with high volume workload, the ideal candidate will be organised and efficient, able to work to tight deadlines
• A can-do attitude and ability to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
• An understanding of the nature of the job, which sometimes means that you may have to work late
• Highly skilled in MS Office applications and time entry systems
• Previous experience of using MacBook is highly advantageous, in particular, MacMail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Other languages are advantageous but not essential
• Good client management skills
