Accounts Payable Officer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure the accurate processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include verifying and recording payable data, reconciling ledgers, resolving discrepancies, and preparing reports. A background in real estate or a related industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges.
• Verify invoices and supporting documents to ensure accuracy.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
• Maintain historical records by filing documents.
• Prepare reports on accounts payable and expenditures.
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
• Produce monthly reports and assist in month-end closing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within the real estate or similar industry
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle discrepancies in a timely manner
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
