Agricultural Engineer

Job description / Role

The new Horticultural engineer is to blend agricultural engineering, plant science, computer science, and control theory to produce effective and efficient plant growing systems ranging from low-tech row cover systems to high-tech greenhouses; The Engineer is to handle both Edible and none Edible plants as he is to follow nos. of high-end farms as well as a landscape (External & Internal) in nos of buildings, Mall, and Villas.

• Must have in-depth knowledge of general agricultural procedures
• Must have knowledge of Hydroponic systems.
• Good experience in landscape processes and procedures as well as maintenance.
• Designing crop storage facilities, animal, and crop processing, and overseeing the construction and/or setting up of these facilities
• Conducting educational programs that help farmers with relevant information that they need for the improvement and enhancement of their agricultural produce
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Possession of good interpersonal skills is a must
• A high level of knowledge pertaining to the installation, use, and repair of agricultural equipment
• Must be able to work as part of a team or to lead a team if the need arises
• Must be someone that pays keen attention to details
• Must have excellent coordination and organizational abilities
• Ability to solve complex problems. That is to say that the engineer must have good problem-solving abilities
• Must display flexibility while carrying out duties
• Must have good time management skills
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering

Requirements

• An ideal candidate for this position is one have a Bachelor's of Agriculture Engineering with good experience in managing large farms, Greenhouses and Hydroponics
• Citrus fruit plantation in UAE
• Vegetable plantation in UAE
• Soil treatment
• Irrigation
