Job description / Role
Job purpose

As aircraft loading supervisor, you will safely coordinate arrival and departure below wing activities of the aircraft by leading and briefing loading teams on the handling requirements and ground support activities and ensure alignment with the SLA’s, standard operating procedures and highlight any potential handling constraints. You will also undertake aircraft pushback operations.
In this role you will:
- Implement departmental policies, processes, procedures and provide instructions to the team on the day of operations
- Implement day-to-day operations assigned and ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
- Ensure that safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is risk exposure, role model safe behaviours and follow up on corrective actions
- Ensure safety of staff and that they have the knowledge and confidence to work safely by providing support, direction, being a role model for the desired safety behaviours
- Lead team of staff on the day of operations, undertaking all loading and equipment operation activities to safely handle all arrival and departure flights efficiently
- Coach staff and team members in order to develop staff competencies, ensuring optimum performance
- Conduct briefings (commencement of turnaround) to ensure staff are aware of any particular information related to the aircraft they will handle
- Supervise the turnaround process to ensure availability of resources on time, accurate operating process in line with the safety standards
- Communicate regularly with team members and service partners to ensure all flights are handled in a timely manner and any problems are overcome efficiently
- Supervise the loading process to ensure that the aircraft is loaded in line with the load sheet, Loading Instruction Report Form (LIRF) and any related documents for arrival, departure and turnaround flights
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with customer service team leaders with regards to boarding status, any passenger offload and figures to ensure that the final load-planning information is updated and accurate
- Escalate any ground services equipment (GSE) serviceability concerns to the manager on shift
- Coordinate with cockpit and cabin crew to obtain boarding clearance and fuel figures and ensure that this information is passed to the boarding team and load control
- Liaise closely with lead equipment operator to ensure loading activities continue uninterrupted during the periods he is coordinating with crew
- Be responsible to handle freighter aircraft lower deck and below the wing activities independently with the support of a lead equipment operator
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you should meet the below requirements:
- High school with a certificate (12 years of schooling) or diploma
- 4-6 years of experience in ground handling, aircraft handling or customer services
- UAE driving licence in order to gain ADP to operate equipment
- Good written and spoken English communication
