Job description / Role
• To manage and support Ellucian Banner ERP Environment, develop and maintain in-house business applications that extend the current Banner ERP Environment based on user requirements and manage third-party solutions
• Gather business requirements and create functional designs with development team to enhance functionality of the ERP application and/or reports.
• Work with development team in transforming existing in-house administrative forms that uses oracle forms technology to Java Script and HTML5 and PLSQL web applications to Groovy and Grails.
• Develop operating report, drill-down dashboards and analytics from different data source.
• Manage ERP and other business applications under MIS as assigned.
• Ensure business applications and database environment operated in accordance with established security and support best practices.
• Manage the ongoing operational and functional support for the designated business applications.
• Facilitate sharing of common data between database and other third party products required for integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems with business applications that include application, database and server problems.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend appropriate hardware / software resources that may help improve efficiency and effectiveness of technology.
• Prepare technical documentation, user manuals and develops formal proposals for new systems and modifications to existing systems.
Requirements
• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, MIS, or similar discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Java Certified Professional.
• 7 or more years of experience in system development life cycle, ERP support and managing team of developers.
• Server-side Java technology such as Servlets, Java Server Pages, or Grails.
• Object Oriented design and programming in Java using Java8.
• Solid understanding of MVC architecture and familiarity with any Java based web application development framework.
• Experience with database systems such as Oracle and SQL and any Java persistence framework.
• Experience in several of the following technologies: Java, Groovy, Grails, Spring, Hibernate, jQuery, JSP, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, BackboneJS, AngularJS.
• Experience with Responsive Design.
• Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports Development.
• High level of proficiency in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), relational databases preferably Oracle, SQL and PLSQL scripting.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Oracle Application Server.
• Experience with web servers like Apache Tomcat and IIS.
• Experience with GIT/subversion version control system.
• Ability to manage and prioritize your workload in order to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good problem solving, troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users.
