Location: Remotely - Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon. Onsite: Jordan
Arabic speakers only.

The application tester is responsible for identifying and resolving system issues before software releases. They will conduct thorough testing to ensure that applications meet the required standards and perform as expected. This position is typically offered full-time and reports to the QA team lead. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail to enhance the quality of software products.

Daily and monthly responsibilities

• Perform functional, regression, and usability testing on applications.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements.
• Identify, document, and track defects using project management tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers to resolve test issues, identify root causes, and retest resolved issues.
• Participate in requirements and design reviews to provide input on functional requirements.
• Conduct compatibility tests across various devices and platforms.
• Utilize automated testing tools to improve testing efficiency.
• Provide detailed reports on testing progress and results.
• Stay current with new testing tools and strategies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an application testing engineer.
• Testing design and implementation: Proven ability to design and execute functional, non-functional, integration, system, regression, UAT, and API test scenarios.
• Automation and tools: Proficient in automation frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Appium, and Cucumber; experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo) and version control systems (Git, SVN).
• Programming and scripting: Hands-on skills in .NET Core, C#, Python, JavaScript for test scripting and automation.
• Manual testing and defect management: Expertise in test planning, execution, exploratory testing, usability testing, and defect tracking using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.
• Performance and security testing: Experience with on-premise and cloud load/stress testing tools (JMeter, Blazemeter, Visual Studio, LoadRunner), security testing tools (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite), and understanding of common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
• API and mobile testing: Knowledge of REST/SOAP web services, JSON/XML handling, Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured, and mobile testing tools like Appium, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs.
• Database and cloud testing: Proficient in SQL, data validation, DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), and experience testing applications on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Oracle, GCP).
• Agile and SDLC knowledge: Familiarity with SDLC/STLC, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps testing practices.
• Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical/problem-solving skills, communication, collaboration, time management, and adaptability.
• Domain knowledge: Understanding of higher education industry processes and enterprise systems/solutions.
