Applications Engineer - Compressor's - Aspen Hysys

A global supplier of products and services to the oil & gas production industry requires an Applications Engineer to join them on a permanent residential basis in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The main focus of the role is providing conceptual engineering and design development, cost estimating and proposal preparation for Turnkey Gas plants and gas compression and processing equipment in the Middle East region.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Evaluate the design and performance of the proposed equipment; ensure deliverability and reliability of suppliers to meet Customers specifications and timetable
• Review scope definition and project specifications, prepare system simulation, develop equipment sizing, prepare cost estimates, technical and commercial proposals
• Participate in the development of the proposal Process Flow and Process and Instrumentation diagrams as well as proposal General Arrangement drawings
• Conduct and/ or oversee the design, selection, and costing of equipment / units, both internally and externally (i.e. sub-vendors)
• Ensure scope definition, technical / commercial accuracy, completeness and timeline proposals
• Provide customer support to sales via bid clarification meetings, pre-bid technical meetings, negotiation meetings, etc.
• Liaise / coordinate with both internal resources (Project Team, Sales, Service etc.) as well as external (clients, sub-vendors, etc.) to develop relationships
• Assist in the development and maintenance of quoting tools and procedures in order to increase accuracy and success of proposals
• Maintain customer relationships; participate in clients clarification meetings as required
• Comply with all HR, Quality, HSE, and all the Company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager

Requirements

• Suitable candidates will have a bachelors in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a minimum 5 years’ experience in natural gas processing and compression packaging industry, Proficient with Compressor performance software (Ariel, Dresser Rand, Howden, Coolware), Understand and able to use Aspen Hysys simulation.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship building skills
• Excellent Interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrate ability for on-time performance in fast paced work environment
• Ability to achieve excellent performance in individual and team environments
• Excellent command of written and spoken English. Arabic is a plus
