Job description / Role
On behalf of our client a Western multinational oil and gas solutions company, we are looking to recruit an Applications Engineer.
• Reporting to the Manager of Applications Engineering, you will be responsible for providing conceptual engineering, cost estimating and proposal preparation for gas processing equipment and supporting the international sales effort, equipment includes modular equipment for dew point plants, mechanical refrigeration units, fractionation trains, cyrogenic plants, amine systems, TEG dehydration, molecular sieve and other systems found in the mid-stream marketing, you will also advise and support sales with client meeting, presentation and bid strategy.
Requirements
• Be degree educated in Chemical Engineering
• Have 7 years’ experience in the following,
• Engineering or Engineering Technology degree and or an equivalent background. Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
• 7 yrs. knowledge of the fundamentals required by the equipment used in our products:
• Experience with packaging condensate Stabilizers, amine units, TEG, Cryo’s, etc.
• Thermodynamics
• Chemistry
• Process Controls
• Equipment sizing (vessels, heat exchangers, and pumps)
• Gas Compression
• Ability to develop conceptual designs based on the principles listed above
• Advanced knowledge of product mechanical design, thermodynamics, chemical processing, and instrumentation & controls.
• Fluent in developing simulations in HYSYS or ProMax.
• Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions of sale.
• Solid IT skills.
• Fluency in English. Additional languages are a plus.
• Time management skills including multi-tasking competing priorities as needed.
• Ability to generate alternative solutions.
• Being customer-centered and able to maintain satisfied customer and vendor relationships.
• Track record of successfully resolving technical problems with a desire and ability to continue learning
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of learning, managing time, priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision.
• Knowledge of API, GPA, ASME, ANSI, NACE and other applicable codes.
• Working knowledge of Middle East and Africa region is a plus.
