Job description / Role
- Develop a positive climate that embraces team work and collaboration amongst the team and with home room teachers and the sharing of ideas amongst the team.
- Prepare for and lead weekly planning meetings, document meeting agendas and minutes and published to the Primary teaching faculty.
- Continue to represent Raha International school within the subject area, providing an outstanding level of education to our students.
- Promote and encourage transdisciplinary approach, and ensure all teachers are working towards a shared vision that embraces inquiry and transdisciplinary teaching and planning with the Programme of Inquiry and other curriculum areas.
- To support team members in the pastoral care of their students and provide advice and suggestions to help meet the needs of individual students within the Arabic Programme.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all students are sufficiently supported with their studying needs.
- Liaise with the Language B coordinator to ensure the rigor of the programme and to ensure cohesion of the Arabic language instruction across the secondary school.
- Ensure Arabic teaching assistants are utilized effectively to best support student learning.
Requirements
A suitable candidate will have a Bachelors degree, and experience teaching the IB curriculum to native Arabic speakers. You will have more than four years' experience in a teaching position, ideally with some of this time spent in the UAE.
