Responsibilities and Accountability

The Accountant supports the Finance & Shared Services Department in the process of meeting its objectives and assist in the preparation of budgetary and reporting systems and implementing procedures that enable effective financial management and efficient use of resources. This is a pivotal role to contribute to helping the organization to ensure it maintains its high quality of services whilst identifying ways in which to safely reduce costs thereby enhancing profits.

The post holder reviews and reports financial performance against agreed budgets and forecasts and executes the formulation of the necessary action plans to meet those objectives. He will ensure that decisions, plans and strategies are formulated on a sound commercial and financial basis, while ensuring compliance with government accounting procedures, highlighting areas of concern as appropriate and taking corrective action.

The Accountant creates, coordinates and evaluates financial programs and supporting information systems of the organization to include budgeting and finance controls. He/She maintains appropriate internal control safeguards and ensures compliance with local and corporate budgetary reporting requirements such that the organization may pass internal, external and Governmental Audits. The incumbent oversees the processing of revenue, expenditure and position control documents, department budgets, Payroll updates, ledger and account maintenance and data entry.

Salary:
AED 15,000 to 20,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

The Accountant analyses cash flow, cost controls and expenses to guide senior management. The post holder assists in the preparation of annual Financial Statements in accordance with the applicable Legislation and oversees the production of monthly reports including reconciliations with financial statements and cash flow projections for use by the Executive team.

The post holder delivers this through:
- CIMA, Part Qualified accountant (or equivalent).
- Experience in the production of management accounts and month end reporting.
- Highly numerate with strong IT and financial analysis skills
- Experience of managing budgets/cost control, interpreting data and assessing the impact
- Experience of Financial Analysis/ modelling/investment appraisal techniques
- Knowledge of Dubai Government regulations, policies, processes and procedures

The Accountant works closely with the Director of Finance and Shared Services as well as with the Real-estate Development Director and ensures alignment between their combined effort
