Your new company
A leading scientific trading company is looking for an experienced graphic designer to join operations in their head office in Dubai. The company operate in supplying scientific equipment to laboratories across the Middle East and have top quality office facilities, a training centre and multiple warehouses based here in Dubai.
Your new role
Your job will be to carry out the effective management of the front of house and reception areas of the business – you will be situated on the front desk, being the first point of contact for all guests and visitors to the business. As well as managing reception, you will provide managerial support in supervising the office boy team, ensuring that the offices are well kept and presentable at all times.
The main duties of the role will include
Greeting and welcoming guests as soon as they arrive at the office, directing visitors to the appropriate person and office, answering, screening and forwarding incoming phone calls using the master switchboard, purchasing office stationary and catering where appropriate, manage expense logging, sort incoming post and distribute daily mail and deliveries. As the sole reception member of staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the premises at all times including ensuring all safety policies are being adhered to through issuing visitor badges and monitoring the logbook – you will also be responsible for circulating JAFZA gate passes where needed. As a very busy office, you will be required to update calendars and schedule meetings on a daily basis, as well as performing other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing.
AED 7,000 to 9,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role and be a fluent Arabic speaker. You should have a proficiency in using the full Microsoft Office Suite, as well as having hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers). The ideal candidate will be somebody with a professional and ‘can-do’ attitude, be able to fully manage a busy reception desk and have superior organisation and communication skills. You should want to provide only the highest quality service and be able to multi-task and thrive within a busy environment.
