Job description / Role
Our Multi National Architectural & Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for well experienced Authority Liaison Engineer / Architect of Record to join their team in Dubai on high rise projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an Authority Liaison Architect of Record for large scale mixed use, commercial, hospitality and residential high rise projects in the GCC and have worked for recognised PMC or Design Consultants previously.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Authority Liaison Engineer or Architect of Record, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of projects from inception through completion, with a primary focus on interfacing with regulatory authorities, Dubai municipality, and governing bodies. Your role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements while facilitating efficient project progress.
Regulatory Compliance:
Interpret and advise on local building codes, zoning laws, and other regulatory requirements to architectural designs.
Coordinate and obtain necessary permits, approvals, and NOCs from relevant authorities.
Interface Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the architectural firm and regulatory agencies.
Facilitate meetings, presentations, and discussions with authorities to address design, compliance, and project status.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and submit all required documentation, including permit applications, exception/variance requests, and compliance reports.
Maintain accurate records of approvals (Authority tracker), correspondence, and regulatory changes affecting projects.
Maintain project authority approval flow chart.
Risk Management:
Identify potential compliance issues or challenges early in the design phase and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
Advise project teams on regulatory implications and strategies to achieve compliance efficiently.
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and consultants to integrate regulatory requirements into project plans and specifications.
Ensure timely resolution of regulatory issues to avoid delays and cost overruns.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about changes in building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Recommend process improvements and best practices to enhance compliance and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Minimum BSc Degree in Architecture or related
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience and at least 2 in a recognised International Consultancy in the UAE
- Experience in recognised Design Consultancy or PMC company in the capacity of Authority Liaison Architect or AOR is essential.
- Experience of high rise projects is required.
- Ability to work as part of a team
- An all-rounder with a key interest in having hands-on problem-solving approach.
- Excellent Revit, Auto Cad, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro and MS Office skills
Salary:
AED
10,000 to 15,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
