Architectural Draftsman

Job description / Role

• Handle different designing and drafting assignments from multiple projects all at the same time under minimal supervision.
• Create technical drawings and models from sketches, verbal and written specifications obtained from Project Engineers.
• Produce, prepare and revise 2D AutoCAD Shop Drawings and when necessary develop its corresponding 3D models.
• Prepare graphical documentation using CAD, Photoshop and other applicable software.
• Work with Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and documentation.
• Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
• Coordinate with Site Supervisors for drawings and additional information required during construction.
• Review drawings for completeness and precision.
• Analyse building specifications and prepare Bill of Quantities.
• Organize, update and maintain an electronic library of all projects (incl. drafting logs, drawings, revisions etc.)

Salary:
AED 4,000 to 5,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

Knowledge:
• Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision blueprints, drawings, and models.
• English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures to the design and production of various goods and services.
