Architectural Project Manager

Job description / Role

Our client is the Dubai office of a highly reputable Architectural Consultancy. A Project Leader / Manager is now required to supervise the day to day activities relating to a large retail mall project currently at conceptual design stage. The company offers an outstanding opportunity to act as Leader/Manager on a project from initial pre-concept stage through to completion.

• Responsibilities associated with this role include:
Supervising the multi-disciplinary teams; setting operational objectives for profitability for work standards
• Overseeing specific project (s) supporting the Project Director in identifying required resources; assigning work appropriately. This will include establishing work plan, quality requirements, man hours budgets, schedules etc)
• Coordinating with other teams to ensure effective cooperation and to ensure workload is completing within set deadlines
• Preparing design and construction drawings, calculations and specifications in line with procedures. Coordinate design and production information with team, consultants etc
• Managing the project throughout the various stages
• Supervise all quality
• Maintaining all communication with senior management providing complete visibility on status of project including contracts and agreements
• Working closely with the Project Director; supporting business development activities
• Participating in all client meetings; prepare proposed project plans; design, fee and any other information require for project bids. Assist the Project Director with negotiations
• Control project budgets and costs, highlighting outstanding accounts and support Finance in collection of such.
• Maintain complete record of project as per the company’s archiving procedures
• Other duties as assigned by Senior Management

Requirements

• Possess at least 15 years post qualification experience in a supervisory architect role; ideally gained on large scale retail mall design and construction
• Be a qualified Architect with RIBA/ARB or equal professional institute qualification
• Minimum 5 years UAE experience
• Strong project management experience covering entire project life cycle and budgets about AED300m
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills together with sold planning and estimating skills
• Demonstrate outstanding experience as a team leader
• Possess solid communication skills and negotiation skills with key stakeholders and senior clients
• Sold MS Office skills plus modern ERP systems
• Must be an AutoCAD user with Revit skills advantageous
• Possess up to date knowledge of local legal and compliance regulations
