Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with an international organisation which specialise in providing port services and logistic solutions mainly supporting navy vessels. Our client is looking to appoint a dedicated Area Manager to handle the Middle East and APAC regions.
This is an excellent opportunity working with a highly experienced team, our client is looking for a driven, entrepreneurial individual who can help grow the business and strengthen relationships with key suppliers and contract partners. You will be required to manage the entire network of agents, ensuring that quotes received meet the best economic conditions for the company, whilst not compromising the quality of services provided to the client.
In addition, you will be responsible to conduct detailed studies of all contract terms and conditions as well as the related statement of work, in order to detect the correct procedures to be implemented in order to guarantee the company’s conformity whilst also identifying opportunities to increase profits. In this crucial role you will communicate between navy/military clients and local agents ensuring successful execution of all operational and logistic services, as per contract. In addition you will be required to provide the company’s Directors with detailed trend analysis reports, business forecasts and P&L reviews. This role involves a large amount of travel across the Middle East and Asia, often at short notice due to the nature of the business therefore candidates must be flexible and willing to adapt around business requirements.
Please note a large amount of time will be spent in Asia and once restrictions lift there may be a requirement to relocate to the region.
To be considered for this role you must have a Degree in business studies or a relevant field. Knowledge of port services specifically in relation to navy ships, is highly advantageous but not essential.
The successful candidate should have prior experience in logistics or shipping and must have worked in a management role either as an independent contributor or leading a small team.
