Job Description
The Department of ARidland Agriculture invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a brief description of current/future research activities, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have a PhD in animal science, or a closely related area. Postdoctoral experience is desirable. Experience in livestock production and management preferred. A proven track record of research, extramural research funding, impactful publications, graduate mentoring and undergraduate teaching is essential. Candidates with a substantial background in small and large ruminant production are desired.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to develop a competitive and internationally visible research program in animal science with emphases on livestock production, with distinct scholarly outcomes including publications and presentations. He/she should be able to maintain a consistently funded research program through internal and external/collaborative support. The candidate must develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in animal science, supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students, advise departmental student organizations, and participate in appropriate professional and University service. Professional development activities are strongly encouraged.
