The Role:

- Responsible for directing, controlling, coordinating and participating in all Engineering activities
- In-charge of the daily operation of the Engineering department
- In-charge of the maintenance, repair and engineering of the hotel operation.
- In-charge of the security aspects of the hotel

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

Planning & Organizing:

- Analyze the hotel performance in the RMS as a basis for strategy decisions.
- Develops and implements cost reduction, work simplification methods and techniques and improvement programmes.
- Participates in the execution of new projects including planning and costing.
- Participates in the Engineering budget and business plan preparation.
- Ensures the implementation of all instructions given by the Management.
- Provide support and guidance to subordinates.
- Plan and organize training such as civil defense, first aid, fire drill trainings.
- Prepares and participates in the departmental training plan.
- To be fully aware and conversant of ISO9001 and ISO14001 policies and procedures and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
- To respond to changes in the function as dictated by the industry, company or the hotel.
- To carry out quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
- Recruit the headcount for his/her team
- Manage his/her team in an equitable manner and in accordance with local labor laws and Accor philosophy.
- Evaluate each member of his/her team at least once a year and give team members' regular feedback on their job performance.
- Displays exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counselling employees as appropriate and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management.
- Convene meetings with his/her team at regular intervals for information purposes.

Operations:

Supervises and participates in:
- Installing, maintaining, repairing and operating Hotel machinery, equipment and related systems.
- Fabricating, maintaining, installing or repairing plumbing and sanitary facilities.
- Painting and varnishing surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of the building and other structures.
- Implements preventive maintenance and repair schedules for all hotel complex, machinery, equipment and other facilities.
- Oversees the General Maintenance of the building.
- Oversees the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and others.
- Coordinates with Security Contractors in all aspect of the safety and security of the hotel properties.
- Conducts routine inspections of the entire building including mechanical areas.
- Supervises the implementation of all maintenance contracts.
- Initiates energy and water conservation plans, as per Accor's Environmental Charter.
- Responds quickly to guest request / complaints ensuring courteous, professional service.
- Ensures that health, hygiene and safety regulations are complied with and applied in the hotel in compliance with HACCP standards and procedures set by the Dubai Municipality.

Trouble shooting, operation, repair and maintenance of:
- Mechanical services such as A/C unit, exhaust and ventilation
- Heater and coolers system, water supply and waste water treatment, pool water filtration
- Sanitary and plumbing and steam generators
- Conducts routine inspections of Electrical services such as power supply, main circuit breakers, transformers, high and low tension, emergency generators, room switches, telephones, lifts and lighting.
- Conducts routine inspections of Life safety equipment such as firefighting, sprinklers, detectors, fire pumps, exit signage and extinguishers are properly.
- Conducts routine inspections of utilities supply such as hot and cold water, electricity, gas, fuel.
- Conducts routine inspections of Kitchen and laundry equipment.
- General building maintenance such as masonry, painting, carpentry, etc.

Administration:
- Prepares and/or recommends requisitioning/ordering pertaining to maintenance of equipment, materials and supplies.
- Prepares work schedules .

Generic Aspects on Hygiene / Personal Safety / Environment / Confidentiality:
- Ensure proper care of all equipment and furniture entrusted for Heartist use.
- Be well-familiar with the hotel's policies and procedures, well-acquainted with the physical layout of the hotel and its premises and knowledgeable of the hotel's emergency procedures in regard to fire, medical, bomb threat, black-out and evacuation.
- Knows the safety regulations and ensures their application & ensures the safety of people and property in the hotel.
- Respects and ensures respect of the hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" of Planet 21 program (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc).
- Understands and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- Ensure that confidential records and other confidential information are properly safeguarded and are not removed from the office.
- Does not disclose any financial information or any other information of the Accor Hotels.
