Assistant Commercial Manager

Job description / Role

The Assistant Commercial Manager supports the Commercial Manager/Head of Commercial in managing contracts, cost control, procurement, variations, claims, commercial reporting, and risk management across the project lifecycle.

The role varies slightly depending on whether it is positioned within a PMC, Developer, Consultancy, or Client-Side setting but always focuses on protecting the project’s commercial interests and ensuring financial discipline.

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of commercial/QS experience in construction or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC suite, commercial terms, and UAE construction market.
• Experience in pre-contract and post-contract commercial administration.
• Professional certifications (MRICS / PMP / CICES) are an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, cost software (CostX, Candy), and contract management tools.
