Assistant Contract & Purchase Manager

Job description / Role

Purpose: To enhance the profitability of the business by managing specific procurement teams and implementation of Contracts, Purchase and Cost control business activities to ensure that all materials and services are procured in accordance with specifications, at the most competitive price.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the implementation and adherence of contracts & purchase regulations, rules and procedures for daily activities and jobs of division.
- Build & maintain strong business network with service contractors, suppliers and concerned entities.
- Maintain sources of supply awareness by reviewing company supplier performance, trade publications and networking.
- Ensure all materials and services are procured at competitive prices to budget, in accordance with the programme and in compliance with specifications.
- Generate & prepare various reports and progress statistics linked to division plans and activities on weekly, monthly and yearly basis to provide them to the line manager.
- To provide an ethical & consistent approach to the procurement of good & services.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in a business field, MBA/CIPS particularly desirable. Applicants with degrees in business law and business administration are particularly desirable.
- At least 10 years of experience of mim 5 years experience as Senior Procurement Officer / Procurement Manager
- Awareness of the local and regional legal environment.

Skills
- Good knowledge and understanding of construction and issues such as building regulations and planning
- Commercial awareness
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong Budgeting, Maths and IT skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
