Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for controlling and supervising all F&B activities in the terminal outlets and report to the Food & Beverage Manager. He or she must guarantee operational efficiency and customer/clients` satisfaction.

The accountabilities have been divided into Plan-Deploy-Lead-Execute to enable:
• Maximising the ‘Value added’ and ‘essential’ activities across roles
• Identification of roles whose activities correspond to multiple parts of the value chain
• Reduction in the level of complexity for roles whose focus is on ‘execution’ of the processes
• Ensure aligned accountabilities across similar roles

• Accountabilities related to preparation/scheduling of work or actions which need to be completed. Reviewing and reporting performance.
• Assisting and reporting to the F&B Manager on daily basis on duty roasters, staff issues, operations, sales, stocks, emergencies and abnormalities.
• Ensures the correct number of staff on each shift to meet sales / customer needs.
• Ensures that all staff sells through talking to the customer, advising on the menu, using recommendations.
• Organises staff roaster according to demand patterns.
• Manages and controls staff to make sure all outlets have smooth operation.
• Ensures adherence to cash management and customer service process across the outlets.
• Checks staff uniforms and grooming of staff members and takes immediate action if not complying with company`s standards.
• Conducts a full induction and training plan to all new personnel.
• Ensures all staff attending their duty according to the set duty roaster.
• Ensures all team members are trained on food and beverage specification/presentation.
• Sets the annual leave plan and tracking of attendance.
• Manages and develops staff by coaching and training them on an ongoing basis.
• Ensures that a particular attention is paid to customer care and service, portioning, presentation, preparation and wastage.
• Ensures the correct handling and storage of goods to maintain them in good condition, according to the standards.

• Ensures that all equipment is maintained in a safe, clean and efficient working condition and reports all defects, accidents, damages to the Terminal F&B manager
• Ensures the safety and security of the premises and their contents at all times.
• Reports to the Terminal F&B Manager any incident that may result in an investigation by a statutory body/department.
• Ensures that the outlets are operated within the terms of the Municipality.
• Ensures Daily Sales sheet is submitted to Finance Ensures no unauthorised changes are made to company paperwork and spreadsheets. Ensures no unauthorised changes or use of tills or computers.
• Identifies staff members` weakness and re-trains as necessary.
• Trains and coaches staff in guest services principles and practices.
• Assists staff in new product implementation.
• Stimulates and motivates staff on utilising up selling techniques to promote our products.
• Deals with customers complaints promptly and reports them to The Terminal F&B Manager.
• Deals with airline supervisors and duty managers when receiving a delayed flight, order and arrange with the Production with urgent timing to serve the meals to passengers.
• Handles delay flight and misconnections by communicating with the Airlines authorities/ Transfer desk.
• Takes order from customers for cakes and the like and follow through.
• Holds team briefing with staff before each shift.
• Manages, keeps control and records of daily cash intakes.
• Trains relevant staff on cash handling and security.
• Monitors cash handling procedures and on a regular basis; investigate all security concerns.
• Punches and prepares credit bills for the airline on a daily basis.
• Encodes credit bills report and sends them to the Finance Department by email on daily basis.
• Monitors food wastages daily.
• Orders supplies from the Production unit and Warehouse, receives and accounts for stocks
• Carries out inventory stock takings and instructs staff on how to do it.
• Checks stock and transfer products from one unit to the other before making daily and or urgent orders.
• Checks the expiries of the items on regular and daily bases.
• Prepares maintenance reports and sends job request form to Maintenance Department.
• Orders the dry store and maintains the par level to run the operation smoothly.
• Purchases cigarettes and newspapers on cash bases.
• Gives and takes handovers from one shift to the other through verbal and written communication and checks emails and the log book for handovers.
• Identifies and delegates jobs to be done to subordinates, to insure sales and service objectives are met.
• Provides service direction to Supervisors and Service Crews to achieve the set goals.
• Reviews operations and staff to identify any problems, concerns and opportunities for improvements.
• Provides coaching and feedback to Supervisors and Service Crews and asses performance on ongoing bases.
• Carries out audits of all locations on: equipment, staff, food, beverage, merchandise, promo material, furniture.

Salary:
AED 8,000 to 10,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• College Degree in Hospitality/Hotel Management or equivalent.
• HACCP Certificates.
• 2 years work experience or equivalent in QSR multi-unit F&B supervisory or Management posts.
• POS knowledge.
• Computer skills (Excel, Word and Outlook mainly).
• Stock taking experience.
• Able to work flexible hours required, sometimes long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work in fast paced, stressful environment.
• Fluent in English written and spoken.
• An Arabic Language skill is a plus.
• Within 25-35 years old.
