Job Description

GEMS Winchester School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Head Teacher - Data Assessment, and Timetabling. This role combines leadership in the Mathematics department, overseeing student progress through data analysis, and managing the school's timetable to ensure effective and efficient teaching schedules. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and staff to drive excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Support staff in curriculum development and deliver professional development in pedagogical approaches
- Oversee student data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform teaching and improve student outcomes. Ensure effective use of assessment data across all year groups
- Manage the school's timetable, ensuring that it aligns with both academic and operational needs. Work collaboratively with department heads to make adjustments based on student needs, staffing availability, and curriculum changes
- Contribute to whole-school planning, policy development, and academic goal setting
- Work closely with teachers, heads of department, and senior leadership to foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Liaise with parents regarding student progress and assessment results. Provide reports and participate in parent-teacher meetings to ensure parents are informed about their child's learning
- Ensure all academic practices are in line with school policies, UK curriculum standards, and safeguarding regulations

Skills

Successful candidates will need to:
- Hold a B.Ed. or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
- Proven experience teaching Secondary school level
- Strong data analysis skills and experience in using data to drive student progress
- Expertise in timetabling and understanding of the logistical challenges in a school environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with staff, students, and parents effectively
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for fostering an inclusive, high-performing educational environment

Education
B.Ed or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
