Sofitel Dubai the Obelisk scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2019, will be Sofitel's largest property in the Middle East. The hotel will feature 501 luxury guestrooms inclusive of 86 suites and 97 serviced apartments in the heart of Dubai. A variety of trendy restaurants and bars including a contemporary Asian restaurant, a Gastro Pub, a French Brasserie and Patio will bring residents and patrons together to celebrate the French "Joie de Vivre". Guests will have the option to unwind at the So Spa and outdoor pools with private cabanas or workout in a fully-fledged fitness centre. Business travellers will have access to 1,589 square meter of meeting space including one state-of-the-art ballroom ideal for the most sought after social gatherings.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To ensure that timely IT support is rendered to all guests and departments, especially in areas with guest contacts.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Good hands on knowledge with all Hospitality IT Systems specially Oracle products such as Opera & Simphony, Windows PC & Server platforms and operating systems.
- Experience in managing network related equipment and software such as HP and Cisco.
- Provide In-house guest IT related matter troubleshooting and practice a proactive support by maintaining the services ensuring to maintain highest guest satisfaction scores.
- Experience in dealing with vendors and manage the IT contracts.
- Coordinate and manage projects, oversee the work of the projects and ensure on time completion and including documentation on project progress.
- Ensure that IT actively contributes to cost saving and revenue generating strategies
- Coordinate, introduce, implement, continuously manage and use best practice of Information Technology and telecommunications in order to protect, manage and exploit the use of IT within the business, effectively.
- Ensure Accor IT standards and best practices are communicated, implemented and measured.
- Support the business in the preparation of contingency plans & co-ordinates the regular testing.
- Team management ensuring all day to day tasks are carried out on a timely manner by the subordinates.
- Flexibility to support IT related issues in the company even after IT support hours during critical situations.

Requirements

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

- Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to all levels of management.
- Must be capable of training users with varying degrees of computer knowledge.
- Must have experience in negotiating and executing computer data communication contracts.
- Must have an understanding of the accounting/budgeting function.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Hospitality IT
- Experience in Hotels systems such as Opera Cloud and Simphony Cloud
- Experience in Server Virtualization
- Managed a team of minimum 2 employees reporting to you
- Degree in IT/Computer Science Field.
- Relevant industry certifications to support the experience.

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 6 - 8 year s relevant experience with at least 2 years in a similar capacity in a 5* Hotel
