The Role:

Under the guidance of Talent & Culture Manager and within the boundaries of Accor (Adagio ApartHotel, Ibis Styles & Mercure Dubai Deira Hotels) policies and procedures, Learning & Development Executive will be responsible for ensuring the quality and expertise of the Learning and Development at hotel level meets the needs of the business, and that learning design, administration and delivery is consistent with the expectations and strategy of Accor regionally and globally.

The Learning & Development Executive will be flexible and available at all times when required. He/She will be fully conversant and responsible with all the services and facilities offered by the hotel to assist our external guest and internal Heartists. To handle all the trainings within the hotel. Trainings conducted by the Accor Academy is carried out appropriately.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES:

- Assist the Talent & Culture Manager in the development of a comprehensive training plan of all training activities for the year to be reviewed quarterly and recommendations made where necessary.
- Assist the Talent & Culture Manager in managing and developing the Heartists, ensuring that they are developed to their maximum potential and efficiency and monitor their performance to stay current with Accor philosophies and methodologies.
- Advise the Talent & Culture Manager of any new support materials that would be beneficial to the hotel.
- Ensure that monthly and weekly training schedules are distributed timely.
- Ensure the training of Departmental trainers and their maximum utilization in each department.
- Schedule regular meetings with respective Departmental trainers and their Department Heads to discuss training matters.
- Work with the Departmental Trainers and ensure that they submit and conduct Monthly Departmental Training Schedules.
- Plan, implement and monitor in conjunction with the Talent & Culture Manager and management team.

- Review the progress of the Heartist Program and make recommendations where necessary.
- Be responsible for the compilations and implementation of the following Heartists communications:
* Heartist Handbook
* Heartist Newsletter
* Heartist Notice Boards
* Knowledge Tree
- Ensure a strong, creative and effective communication system within the hotel to keep Heartist informed on all training activities.
- Maintain an effective filing system for proper maintenance of all training documentation, records and materials.
- Initiate and maintain annual assessments of the training efforts in the hotel.
- Maintain an up-to-date computerized Training Record system.
- Identify candidates both internally and externally for Intern/Management Training Programs.
- Monitor progress of Cross Training / Interns / Management Trainees during their placements.
- Hold regular meetings with Cross Training / Interns / Management Trainees to discuss areas of accomplishments and concerns; share the information with Executive Committee members and Department Heads.
- Ensure timely submission of Evaluation of these Trainees.
- Assist recruitment / selection of trainees by screening received resumes and distribute information to HOD's accordingly.
- Administer documentation associated with the Accor Heartist Program
- Assist the Talent & Culture Manager in building of an efficient team of Heartist by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
- Ensure that all Heartists provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
- Produce the T&C indicator report and any other report related to training.
- Prioritise tasks and deadlines through his coordination skills.
- Assist with the development, update and organization of the Onboarding to ensure that all new hires are scheduled to attend this program during their first days of employment.
- Participate actively in local career fairs.
- Actively participate in all T&C activities.
- Coordinate with HOD's and departmental trainers identified training needs for Heartist.
- To comply with local legislation as required.
- To attend training and meetings as and when required.
- Ensure wherever possible that employees are provided with a work place free of discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
- Treat complaints of harassment and discrimination promptly and confidentially.
- Treat customers and colleagues from all cultural groups with respect and sensitivity.
- Identify and deal with issues which may cause cross cultural conflict or misunderstanding.

Financial and Revenue Responsibilities

- Manage the resources of the Training department and the training facilities.
- Ensure the security of training facilities, equipment and materials.

Guest Service Responsibilities

- Assist with training to support brand quality standards.
- Assist with implementation of new policies, procedures and standards.
- Meeting one guest in a day

Miscellaneous

- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.
- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department appearance standards.
- To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
- To maintain good working relationships with your Heartists and all other departments.
- To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
- Contribute to and monitor regular departmental meetings
- Ensure that all Heartists are treated fairly and consistently as outlined in their terms and conditions of employment, local legislation and company or hotel procedures and policies.
- All Heartists are required to comply with every reasonable request from their hierarchical supervisor(s) within an amount of time that it takes to comply under normal circumstances.
- All Heartists may be assigned to other duties in the hotel as and when required by business levels.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Health and Safety

- Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified
- Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
- Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and Heartists
- Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying Hotel Regulations by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes etc.
- Ensure all Heartists within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others
- Use safe manual handling techniques and practise safe work habits following Adagio ApartHotel, Ibis Styles and Mercure Dubai Deira Health, Safety and Environment policies, maintain procedures to minimise our impact on the environment and prevent pollution.

Confidentiality

- Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of all intellectual property and data bases, both hard copy and electronic. Adhere to Accor (Adagio ApartHotel, Ibis Styles and Mercure Dubai Deira) Internet and Email policy
- Ensure Hotel, Customer and Heartists information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company.

Generic Aspects on Hygiene / Personal Safety / Environment/Confidentiality:
- Ensure proper care of all equipment and furniture entrusted for Heartists use.
- Be well-familiar with the hotel's policies and procedures, well-acquainted with the physical layout of the hotel and its premises and knowledgeable of the hotel's emergency procedures in regard to fire, medical, bomb threat, black-out and evacuation.
- Knows the safety regulations and ensures their application & ensures the safety of people and property in the hotel.
- Respects and ensures respect of the hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" of Planet 21 program (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc.).
- Understands and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- Ensure that confidential records and other confidential information are properly safeguarded and are not removed from the office.
- Does not disclose any financial information or any other information of the Accor Hotels.
