This role acts as a trusted advisor to the business across a range of complex Employee Relation issues that are escalated from within the business. Accountable for resolving medium complex cases with support from Head of Employee Relation as required.

- Develop strategies for ensuring the Bank achieves its Employee relations goals
- Develop relationships with HR Business Partners and their line customers and ensure regular communication in order to identify, advise upon and influence the Employee Relations issues
- Develop and manage relationships with senior officials or regulators in order to ensure the Bank remains compliant with evolving legislations pertaining to Employee Relations - manage key relationships with MOHRE and regulatory authorities to ensure positive partnerships
- Ensure that the Bank's obligations within procedural agreements and policies are met through proactive liaison and review of business plans in conjunction with HR Business Partners and business representatives as required
- Ensure development and regular review of the Employee Relations framework to ensure effectiveness in delivering business change whilst complying with employment legislation
- Act as the lead HR representative for all Employee Relations cases across to ensure consistent and acceptable outcomes that comply with polices and legislation
- Manage relationship with Central Bank with regards to the PBG process to ensure positive partnership
- Develop and maintain CBD's Employee Relations philosophy and policy, including the rules and regulations for addressing discipline and grievances in the Bank. This may also include face to face training during orientation for new staff and refresher training with business units
- Take ownership for the smooth functioning of the various disciplinary hearings, performance cases and grievance hearings including the scheduling of hearings, the communication of outcomes and administration around the process
- Remain the point of contact between Legal, business area and HR on all legal cases
- Provide support to HR Business Partners for the Grievance process within CBD as required, ensuring effective and timely escalation and resolution of grievances. This may include site visits to determine the accuracy of grievances but also to maintain sound relations with management and employees
- Encourage a healthy relationship of engagement within Emiratization for Tumoo7 program to follow up with the line managers and the graduates and coach them on any issues
- Take ownership and manage the content of the Employee newsletter, following set SLAs agreed with Corporate Communications and Head of HR
- Maintain accurate MI to monitor compliance against standards, enable regular reporting to key stakeholders and highlight potential root cause of identified trends and recommend actions to develop solutions

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Good understanding of UAE labor law, CBD policies and procedures
- Good standard of written and spoken English. Arabic language skills essential
- 5 to 7 years' experience in Human Resources function with exposure to Legal ER cases
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Excellent communication skills, creative, results driven and a good standard of written and spoken English with fluent Arabic

An Emiri Decree issued by His Highness the Late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the founder of modern Dubai, laid the cornerstone of Commercial Bank of Dubai. We started out as a joint venture of Commerzbank, Chase Manhattan Bank and Commercial Bank of Kuwait. A minority stake was held by a few UAE businessmen.
