Emirates NBD Services is the business-facing control team supporting the various business/support units e.g. WB, Retail, Treasury, ITO, GOPS and Tanfeeth. This unit is responsible for ensuring adequate controls/checks are in place, identifying, escalating and mitigating risk, resolving financial and accounting related issues, driving group projects/initiatives etc.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily/monthly reconciliations (balance sheet, suspense balance, interest, balances etc.) at all levels in a timely and accurate manner.
• Follow up to ensure resolution of reconciliation differences between GL and transaction processing systems.
• Support all accounting and other related requirements including office accounts creation, maintenance etc.
• Perform checks of both balance sheet and P&L balances with necessary and appropriate substantiation at regular intervals.
• Support business, finance and other stakeholders to launch new initiatives/processes including modifications thereto and driving projects/initiatives impacting finance.
• Conduct finance-related user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Maintain tracker of operational and system issues, liaising with IT or stakeholders until closure.

Skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree is essential.
• A thorough understanding of finance and accounting concepts.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office and prior experience working in an ERP system (Oracle, SAP etc.).
• Qualified accountant - CA, ACCA, CFA, MBA Finance or pursuing.
• A minimum of 3 years of total work experience in the finance function of a large bank with exposure to business finance.
• Proficient in Excel.
