Job description / Role
The Company
Our client, a diversified multinational firm with a significant presence in international energy trading markets, is currently seeking an experienced trade finance and treasury operations professional to join their Dubai based finance team.
The Role
* Oversee and Manage the centralised Trade finance team and controlling the issuance of LC's, Bank Guarantees, settling bills and other trade finance instruments on time to avoid delays and costs.
* Implement objectives, policies and procedures manual and user manuals for trade finance unit
* Monitoring and Managing Day to Day Financial Operations including Working Capital, Income, Expense, Costing and Profitability of trades etc
* Managing Fund inflow and outflow whilst minimising risk and oversee treasury department, planning settlements in advance with banks and suppliers by optimising utilisation of bank limits and Term deposits.
* Liaising with Trading and Shipping covering Front, Middle and Back Office to provide support on all finance related to ensure smooth execution of deals
* Liaising with Banks to provide documentations and clarifications required to ensure compliance with their requirements and continuity of credit lines.
* Liaising with banks for Mark to Market clarifications and managing margin calls
* Understanding the Risk Management Process in all aspects of Oil Trading and implementing an effective control process in monitoring the Value at Risk and Trade profitability
* Implementing and monitoring effective Credit Risk Management in conjunction with the management to effectively control credit exposure to suppliers and customers
* Reviewing contracts and deal recap to ensure that payment terms from clients and suppliers are within the framework of available facilities and credit policies of the company
* Execute projects related to trade finance operations, ensure their timely completion, achievement of objectives and cost efficiencies. Execute transactions within pre-set standardized turnaround times for all trade finance activities and service level agreements with business units
* Arranging Debt and Equity Financing, Preparing Capex and Opex Analysis and working with banks for project financing as and when required
* To follow internal financial policies and procedures to ensure that the financial requirements of the group are met
* Analysing long-term business plans and undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning
* Developing and managing financial systems/models, business modelling and risk assessment.
* Undertaking research into pricing, competitors and factors affecting performance
Requirements
The Candidate
* A master's degree in finance or business management with 8-10 years of experience in managerial profile in Oil and Gas sector
* Excellent knowledge on Trade finance and Treasury activities
* Should have worked with international banks and regional GCC banks on negotiating trade finance facilities/ structured finance products etc
* Should have excellent understanding of best in class trade finance practices and relevant UCP regulations, Incoterms and Oil Trading Operations.
* Good Understanding of Oil and Commodity Derivatives
* Good Understanding or Forex trades
* Must have a proficient accounting knowledge and reporting skills as required by regulations
* Excellent communication skills - specifically good spoken and written English
* Computer literacy - excellent working knowledge of accounting software, MS office etc.
