Job description / Role
- Interpreting VAT law & the accompanies regulations guides etc.
- Consulting and liaising with clients locally and regionally on matters of a compliance type nature, checking schedules and ensuring the deliverables are given to clients
- Conducting VAT reviews and client visits, providing opinions on VAT scenarios for clients
- Advising on optimum restructuring of transactions and businesses
- Demonstrating Knowledge of local and offshore legislations and case laws
- Advising on management issues associated within the department, such as work-in-progress monitoring
- Building cordial relationship with the tax authorities
- Presenting and conducting VAT training workshops for clients
- Reporting directly to the manager
- Have a character to own failures and shares success
Requirements
- 4+ years of work experience in VAT/Indirect Taxes
- CA with GCC VAT Experience or India GST Experience
- Should have previously worked in one of the Big 4s/ Tier 1 firm
- Excellent client facing, relationship building and business development skills, coupled with commercial awareness
- Demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent research skills and strong inter-personal skills
- Ability to be proactive, identify opportunity and take early responsibility
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments
- Attention to detail
- Availability to travel within the GCC
- Excellent English skills (Reading, Speaking and Writing)
- Fluent in Arabic (Optional)
