Assistant Merchandiser

Job description / Role

Position Objective

• The position is responsible for ensuring that the products appear in the right store at the right time and in the right quantity.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Retail Pro reports, sell-thru and other merchandising reports such as consolidation sheets and product breakdown reports.
• Liaise with stores, logistics and warehouse departments to ensure product supply meets demand.
• Analyze every aspect of the best and worst sellers (for example, the best selling price points, colors or styles).
• Analyze previous season's sales and report on the current season's lines.
• Optimize the volume and profitability of product categories.
• Gather information relating to customer reactions towards the products.
• Coordinate with the buying team on product issues (orders, repeats, damages) and assist in range planning, sales analysis and deliveries.
• Prepare merchandise plans and other information required for product range presentations and reviews for the buyers and brand manager.
• Report competition's offerings and analyze opportunities for the brand team.
• Skillfully manage the processing of various Retail Pro reports and invoices.
• Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of all necessary reports and records.
• Ensure strict confidentiality in maintaining all the documents entrusted.
• Work closely with the Merchandise Planning team on the product range, planning to maximize commercial opportunities for products, as well as getting the right product mix in the business at the subcategory and price point level.
