Job Description
The Department of Geography and Urban Sustainability at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for position of an assistant/associate/full professor of geography. Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Physical/Environmental geography or related fields.The professor is primarily responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the discipline of geography. Specifically, these courses include Physical Geography courses. Teaching assignments may also include World Regional Geography and Human Geography courses. Significant and successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level as well as the ability to manage the department climate station is required.The applicants should have a high level of proficiency in English, (English is the medium of instruction at the UAEU); ability to use modern teaching technologies are desirable. The holder of the position will be expected to contribute to administrative and community services in the department, as well as, the community at large. A detailed CV along with teaching philosophy and research interests' statement should be submitted with the application. In addition, evidences for research activities, publications and teaching experiences should be provided.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have earned a doctorate in their field of specialization from a top-ranking university in North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus. Applicants with solid research portfolios who published in prominent journals will be given priority.
Preferred Qualification
Earned doctorate in Physical/Climate/Environmental geography.
