Job Description
The UAE University Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the area of Thermo-Fluids / Energy beginning in the Fall semester 2020 (Mid-August 2020). Candidates are expected to have Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering obtained from reputable western university. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellent skills in research and in teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Relevant industrial experience will be considered as an advantage. Successful candidates will be expected to teach traditional Thermo-Fluids courses, in addition to courses such as 'Thermal System Design', 'Renewable Energy', 'Energy Management', and 'Aerodynamics'. Experience in CFD and the ability to supervise Fluid and Thermal Engineering Lab courses will be an added value.
UAEU faculty members are expected to advise students, perform administrative tasks required to maintain ABET accreditation, and contribute quality service at the professional level. They are also expected to develop and sustain internally and/or externally funded research in their areas of expertise, publish their research findings in well recognized journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.

Requirements
Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field related to thermo-fluids, energy, or renewable energy. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualification
Industrial and professional experience is a plus. Topics of PhD may include either experimental work or CFD simulation. Research related to aerospace is also preferred.
Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
Assistant Professor level, fresh PhD holders.
