Associate Director Cost Management: (UAE)

Faithful+Gould are seeking to expand the commercial services team based from UAE. You will lead a team of QS's / Commercial team for delivery of large projects - typically retail (Malls), and/or mixed-use schemes and/or hospitality and leisure and/or infrastructure projects, plus support country management in both win work capacity and client care.

Candidate can be in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, but willing to work across UAE in countrywide role.

Responsibilities
• Contract interpretation and advice/action
• Client and stakeholder management
• Executive level reporting
• Internal programme management
• Internal governance management
• Managing and assisting technical teams to prepare task orders / work packages
• Reporting and leveraging on project commercial performance incl internal profit and loss
• Ensure time charge hours properly captured and invoiced on time
• Managerial / Client facing position
• Supporting win work strategy including bid writing and key account management

Requirements

Qualifications
• QS Degree from recognized university
• Professional Membership i.e. MRICS

Essential Criteria
• In-depth knowledge and experience commercial management of projects at both pre and post contract stages
• Middle East construction market experience in last 4-6 years preferable
• PQS / client-side previous experience in Middle East of min 4 years with experience in cost planning, procurement and tendering, contract administration etc.
• Good contract, commercial and financial understanding, minimum 10 years post qualification experience
• Excellent written English for preparation of task orders, contract letters and communications
• Good negotiation skills to agree sub-contracts with third parties
• Previous experience in government departments/client-side roles
• Large company and project financial control systems use and understanding
• Large company's internal governance procedures will be an added factor
• Good attention to detail and ability to review invoices and contracts prior to issue
• Must have previous experience of FIDIC Contracts and CostX QS software or similar used for preparation of cost plans and BoQs
