Associate Director - Quantum

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for experienced Associate Director - Quantum to be engaged on a permanent basis in the Middle East

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed analysis of documents related to costings, claims, and other relevant information for major disputes.
• Prepare claims and/or defense documents in accordance with litigation/arbitration standards.
• Support the delivery of commission services in line with client briefs.
• Work both independently and collaboratively as part of claims teams, including lawyers, project personnel, and external consultants, to understand and demonstrate the driving causes of dispute on large, complex construction projects.
• Prepare written reports outlining findings and recommendations.
• Actively contribute to marketing and business development activities, promoting the company’s full range of services across a broad client base.
• Assist in preparing expert reports for formal dispute resolution proceedings.

Additional Information:

• The exact location of the role is to be confirmed and can be based anywhere within the Middle East region.
• Travel within the region is mandatory, and travel outside the region will depend on client needs.

Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in the building or civil engineering industry.
• Proficiency in the English language, both oral and written.
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Ideally hold a relevant post-graduate qualification, such as an MSc in Construction Law, and/or a professional qualification.
• Experience in preparing and defending claims.
• Previous exposure to dispute resolution methods, such as adjudication and/or mediation.
• Experience assisting quantum experts.
• Business development, marketing, and networking experience.
• Willingness to travel overseas to meet client requirements.
