Job description / Role
From the initial enquiry through to project handover, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has extensive knowledge and experience of all stages of railway development, combining our expertise and practical management skills to produce better design concepts, improved construction programmes and lower whole-life costs whilst also considering critical sustainability factors. WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff works across all phases of a rail project - studies, planning, design, construction and supervision, and operations and maintenance of the final asset, drawing on its excellent local knowledge and global expertise.
Purpose: To support our growth in the region we currently seek an Associate Director – Rail and Transit, who will work closely with the regional Head of Rail and Transit to strengthen the excellent service we aim to provide our clients across the Middle East (ME).
Your focus in this position is split between, but not limited to, four key areas;
Business Leadership:
- Provide leadership and support for the business unit across the ME Region, as deputy to the regional Head of Rail and Transit
- Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
- Contribute to the delivery of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s overall business budgets and forecasts
Business Development:
- Lead or support selected region, country or sector to support the business in keeping up to date on the market status and maximising opportunities for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff
- Proactively support business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions
- Actively develop external and internal client relationships and proactively co-sell other WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s services and where applicable the wider business
Project Leadership:
- To act as project director on selected projects by leading and managing the successful delivery of high quality multi and single disciplinary projects
- Ensure proactive project planning, stakeholder and risk management takes place across projects
- Support the team to identify, assess and manage major project risk and secure the best commercial return from the projects in their portfolio
Technical:
- Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale
- Contribute to and lead technical solutions on projects
- Drive innovation and utilise technological advancement
Requirements
- BEng / BSc (Hon) or equivalent degree with minimum 10 years post graduate experience within the Rail and Transportation construction/consulting industry
- Member of associated Professional body
- C.Eng preferred although not essential
- Experience and proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team and multi-disciplinary projects
- Experience of MS Office Suite of Programmes.
- Comprehensive experience in associated discipline software.
