Employment: Full Time

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff are looking for a chartered waste manager with extensive experience in modern waste management, to guide clients towards the most environmentally and economically beneficial waste management solutions through sound research and innovation. The role involves working alongside our local team of waste professionals to support this research, and collaboration with global colleagues for specialist support. There will be a strong emphasis on business development, bid development and project management of waste strategies, options analyses, cost benefit analyses and technology evaluations and design.

The key objectives of the role are to;
• Provide technical direction to waste management staff
• Lead business development opportunities for strategic waste management projects with government and private sector clients; work with others in the wider WSP | PB business to target key clients
• Deliver projects to time and budget, and pursue efficient payments based on milestone deliverables to ensure cash flow
• Provide expert advice in strategic waste management, waste infrastructure design
• Provide research and develop business cases and cost benefit analysis for new waste infrastructure
• Develop tender documentation for waste collection and processing/disposal
• Advise on waste policy development; have a good understanding and/or ability to model future waste management projections

Requirements

How will know when you are successful in this role?
• You will have won a strategic waste management project for the E&S team, e.g. business case for development of an integrated waste facility; tender support to a municipality etc.
• You will have won a waste facility design job that requires support from the wider business (e.g. transfer station, MRF or advanced treatment technologies, such as EfW).
• You will have generated new clients and won additional work with existing clients
• Clients are happy with our deliverables

In order to be shortlisted for the role you will have the following;-
• Chartered Professional (CIWM or engineering equivalent)
• A degree in Engineering or Environment
• Have 12+ years technical experience
• Have worked for consultancies internationally (preferable, not essential)
• Have excellent communication skills
