This position reports to:

Principal Project Engineer - Service Delivery

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design.

The work model for the role is: hybrid.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries division in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Main stakeholders are customers, contractors, suppliers, project managers, and engineering colleagues within ABB.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Performing survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.
• Exercising judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods and preparing project documentation within your scope of deliverables.
• Assisting customers on technical issues and interacting with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within your scope of deliverables.
• Supporting communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
• Participating in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes.
• Coordinating and performing with commissioning and service functions to ensure the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned (if applicable as part of the contract).
• Updating the engineering deliverables post installation and commissioning (if applicable).

Qualifications for the role

• You have a basic understanding of automation systems.
• You are a team player and passionate about problem-solving.
• You are passionate about customer collaboration and have good communication skills.
• Degree in electrical engineering.
• You are at ease communicating in English and Arabic with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
