Role Summary/Purpose

The AVP Airline & Fleet Strategy will support the A&FS Regional VPs and the wider GECAS Commercial team with airline market, airline business model and aircraft product analytics supporting the placement of the GECAS portfolio of aircraft in the marketplace. More specifically, the role includes:

- Providing aircraft product knowledge & analytics (aircraft performance, operating economics)
- Providing market knowledge & analytics (market size & shape, traffic flows, trends, opportunities)
- Providing airline knowledge & analytics (fleet & network analysis, profitability analysis)
- Developing aircraft product fit justification & presenting to senior airline management
- Supporting global deal teams under tight deadlines with competing priorities
- Participating in the development and maintenance of the tools used for analysis
- Participating to the digitalization of data and the standardization of workflow

Requirements

Qualification / Requirements:

- Business or Engineering degree, preferably with an aviation focus
- Minimum of 3 years experience in aviation (aircraft OEM / airline / aviation consultancy)
- Exceptional analytical skills (fluency in Excel modelling), rigor and attention to detail
- Ability to clearly communicate complex analytical issues to non-expert stakeholders
- Strong product and/or market knowledge of the commercial aviation space
- Willingness to travel globally sometimes on short notice
- Creative and solution orientated mindset
- Ability to work in a highly culturally diverse environment and a globally dispersed team
- Ability to prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple tasks to client satisfaction
- High energy level, a sense of urgency, strong willingness to learn & desire to contribute
- Ability & curiosity to challenge the status-quo and think unconventionally
- Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills - MS Office

Desired characteristics:

- Knowledge of industry databases / tools (OAG, Cirium, Sabre, performance tools)
- Knowledge of aircraft operating cost and revenue models & aircraft financing techniques
- Knowledge of macroeconomic factors that drive the airline buying cycle
