Job Description
- Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
- Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries.
- Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
- Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
- Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
- Maintain a clean dining area, sanitizing tables and chairs, and sweeping crumbs off of the floor.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
Qualifications
- Average reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
- Must be well presented and professionally groomed at all times.
- Able to account and handle cash effectively and efficiently.
- Good communication and customer contact skills; good problem resolution skills.
- Basic F&B product knowledge.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Secondary education.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in fast paced coffee driven concept (coffee shop, lobby lounge).
- Previous public contact and/or cashiering experience.
- Specialty coffee shop experience needed.
