Job description / Role

You are an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our food & beverage experience. The Bartender should be a host for the Guests in the bar and provide the best service while mixing the drinks, adhering to the bar standards and also control the beverage stock as per Hotel guidelines

What you will be doing:

- Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Report to duty punctually, in full uniform according to appearance and grooming standards
- Promote and maintain a positive working relationship at all times with all the Colleagues of Bridges Sports Bar and Fairmont Dubai
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of policies, procedures and standards stated in the Fairmont Dubai handbook
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and warm service to all Guests
- Foster and practice teamwork and co operation with all other positions existing in the outlet
- Attend all training sessions and be aware of any changes to menus, hotel and departmental policies and procedures, service standards as well as business trends and requirements
- Take ownership and uphold the values stated in the 12 Service Plus Commitments
- Act according to General Food and Beverage Basics
- Use empowerment to turn challenges into opportunities
- Have full knowledge of the menu, beverage lists in your outlet and all other special promotions taking place in the hotel.
- Knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
- To be able to answer any Guest questions about menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Always take corrective action if service errors occur, ensuring all solutions exceed the Guests expectation
- Welcome Guests to Bridges Sports Bar and ensure they have a pleasant and enjoyable experience
- Understand shift end reports, have knowledge of non-cash / cash transactions and procedures for depositing money into safe or collecting due backs
- Understand each service station and all side duties assigned to that station
- Attend pre-shift, weekly and monthly meetings to continually improve the Guests experience
- Understand how to operate all the equipment used in the outlet
- Fully understand and follow the hotel's recycling program and procedures
- Actively participate in all health and safety procedures for Bridges Sports Bar and the entire hotel
- Follow all of safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Maintain FIFO and the cleanliness of the bar and its equipment on a daily basis
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions, menu items and preparation methods
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Requirements

Your experience and skills include:

- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Excellent knowledge of beverage product and wide repertoire of mixed drinks
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
