Job description
As a bartender, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional beverage and bar experiences that reflect Fairmont luxury brand standards. This role combines technical mastery, operational excellence, and superior guest engagement to create memorable experiences. The role requires a strong knowledge of mixology, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to create an inviting atmosphere for guests.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and specialty drinks, consistently meeting brand and LQA standards.
- Deliver a professional, engaging, and personalized guest experience that reflects luxury service standards.
- Maintain full knowledge of beverage and bar menu items, promotions, and garnishes to answer guest inquiries, recommend drinks, and confidently recite daily specials.
- Upsell beverages, food, and promotions to enhance guest experience and maximize outlet revenue.
- Monitor guest consumption and promote responsible drinking.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including equipment and stock.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately, ensuring proper billing.
- Restock bar supplies, monitor inventory, and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all sanitation, hygiene (HACCP), and safety regulations.
- Assist in creating new drinks, cocktails, and menu items.
- Support team members and collaborate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Attend training sessions to improve knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 1–2 years of bartending experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment. Demonstrated knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beverage service standards.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a recognized bartending or mixology program is required.
