BI Engineer

Job description / Role

Join as a BI engineer within the emerging technology group of this organisation. This role includes data modelling, ETL and database design, configuration and management and ad hoc reporting and analysis.

Description

* Design and plan BI solutions
* Debug, monitor and troubleshoot BI solutions
* Create and deploy reports
* Write relational and multidimensional database queries
* Configure, deploy and maintain database servers
* Ensure that the architectural principles and standards are maintained
* Provide hands-on support for all Data related activities within the BI Team

Requirements

* Bachelor degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science or Software Engineering related discipline preferred
* Data Architecture / Data Modelling experience (Kimball methodology is preferred).
* In-depth understanding and experience with the Microsoft Azure platform
* Understanding of the SQL Server technology stack, database design and programming
* Able to deliver a broad range of data engagements in areas such as Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Analytics, Data Lineage, Data Governance, Data Quality and BI Reporting
* Use of data profiling tools, ETL and data management tools (SSIS and SSAS experience is a must)
* Understanding of data analysis techniques and how they can be applied in the marketing context is beneficial
* Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, PowerPivot and SharePoint.
* Experience in working with a range of data tools for example, Ab Initio, Informatica, DataFlux, Datanomic, Trillium, Teradata, IBM InfoSphere DataStage SQL, Access/Excel, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc
