Employment: Full Time

Serco is currently seeking a Bid Writer to provide professional and high quality writing support for our Propositions, Marketing and Bidding Teams. The successful Bid Writer will form an integral part of the team, articulating business and technical solutions into professional written proposals.

Reporting to the Propositions and Solutions Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for;

- Providing high quality writing services to bids of various scale and complexity, across all of Serco Middle East business sectors (Integrated Facilities Services, Aviation, Defence & Transport)
- Supporting the bid team in the creation of storyboards and to ensure that these are adhered to throughout bid creation
- Working with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other colleagues and specialists to 'interpret' solutions and to extract information
- Creating quality responses which are well-written, accurate, concise and visually engaging and which effectively convey the required message, answering the customer's requirements (including adherence to word counts, presentational requirements and evaluation criteria requirements)
- Understanding and capturing subtleties and nuances within our solutions and to replicate the passion of our SMEs and operational teams within our bid responses
- Conducting additional research to supplement bid responses including collation and presentation of relevant data
- Incorporating elegantly win themes, USPs, sales messages, case studies and 'hot button' material into responses
- Managing the language quality of bids to ensure consistent nomenclature and tone register throughout a submission or portfolio of submissions
- Supporting the management of bid collateral and information sharing across the bid team
- Manning and mentoring more junior or less experienced members of the Bidding Team providing support to their continued learning and professional development
- Where external contractor Bid Writers are allocated to a bid team, ensuring smooth integration into the bid team and providing ongoing guidance and coaching
- Supporting the monitoring and improvement of the quality of bid submissions ensuring high standards of attention to detail

Requirements

Essential qualifications

- Educated to a Bachelor Degree level, have a background in journalism, linguistics or similar and must be able to write to a high level in English (fluency, accuracy, correct messaging etc.)

Preferable qualifications;

- Work experience in Bid Writing and able to demonstrate an ability to manage a multifarious set of deliverables.
- Highly competent in MS Office software and relevant tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc. Skills around template creation and document manipulation
