Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Responsible for the management and coordination of bids and tenders. This includes assessing viability of opportunities, scoping phase, preparation of proposal documents, pitching and client presentations, feedback and transition planning and maintaining pitch library
• Work with fee earners to prepare fee quotes, retainer arrangements and other fixed fee proposals and maintain library of pricing information
• Assist the Director of Business Development with larger, strategically important tender opportunities
• Develop and manage the firm's new business pipeline. Responsible for identifying and progressing key prospects and working with fee earners to help them build relationships with individual contacts. This will include in depth research into pension schemes and their employers
• Attend industry events to identify and develop relationships with prospects as appropriate
• Track and record all referred business to the firm, providing reports when needed
• Work closely with others in the BD team to develop the firm's relationships with referrers and other advisors through a range of relationship development activities and initiatives. Referrers include other law firms, actuarial practices, investment consultants etc.
• Provide BD support to the independent trustee group, public sector team and pension and investment litigation team
• Monitor and report on the firm's competitors
• Coordinate and draft the firm's submissions for various industry awards and surveys
• Work with the rest of the BD team in support of the firm's business strategy and wider BD aims

Requirements

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Extensive experience of managing bids, providing advice on approach and strategy (ideally, 4+ years)
• Writing and editing copy for client facing documents
• Legal or other professional services sector experience preferred
• Working across international offices and time zones

Key Skills:
• Managing, guiding and advising throughout a bidding process
• Excellent writing skills and editing skills
• Strong document production skills (MS Word, Power Point)
• Motivated and confident with good communication skills
• Project and time management skills - juggling different bids and priorities
