Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A globally respected provider of integrated risk and security solutions is looking to appoint an experienced and driven Bid Writer to join its expanding Business Development function. Operating in some of the world’s most complex and sensitive environments, the organisation partners with high-profile governmental, commercial, and international entities to deliver innovative and operationally robust services across land, sea, and air. As Bid Writer, you will play a critical role in securing new business by producing compelling, compliant, and well-structured submissions, including Expressions of Interest, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Requests for Proposals, Requests for Quotes, Requests for Information, and post-tender responses. You will lead and coordinate the full bid lifecycle—researching opportunities, liaising with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, compiling technical and commercial content, and ensuring documentation meets tight client deadlines and strict submission criteria.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will bring three to five years of experience in a similar proposal writing or bid management position, ideally within a complex, deadline-driven, or regulated sector. You must have a proven ability to write clearly and persuasively in professional English, distilling technical input into strong, client-focused messaging. A background in technical writing is essential, alongside confidence in managing multiple concurrent bids and working closely with leadership and operational teams. Strong project coordination, interpersonal and organisational skills are vital, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint. A high standard of design awareness and document presentation is also expected. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing a bid content library, ensuring accurate records of all submissions, and regularly reviewing bid performance to improve future outcomes. Familiarity with global tender portals, proposal tools, and industry best practice is required. While experience within the security, defence, or risk management industry is advantageous, it is not essential.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact, globally-facing role where your writing will directly influence business success. You'll join a collaborative, professional team committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement, in an environment that values initiative, innovation, and quality. If you are looking for a role that combines strategic input, creative writing, and real-world impact—this could be the perfect fit.
