Bilingual In-house Legal Counsel

Job description / Role

Based in Dubai, this creative and media organisation is seeking to further develop their Middle East legal expertise on the ground. As the Head Office is based in the UK, you will work closely with the General Counsel who sits in the London office and also support the senior team in Dubai with advice, guidance and legal acumen. Due to a large volume of projects based in Saudi Arabia, the In-house Legal Counsel is required to be a native Arabic speaker.

This is a stand-alone role and you will therefore manage all legal administration, drafting and negotiations of commercial contracts for governmental authorities and global MNC clients, suppliers and local partners. Working to ensure mitigation of risk to the organisation and a successful outcome for all parties, you will offer your legal expertise on a daily basis. It is the In-house Legal Counsel’s responsibility to ensure industry relevant regulations and changes in such are well communicated both internally and externally and understood by non-legal professional. Therefore, communication and stakeholder management is a key aspect of this role. Supporting the RFP process, you will also be knowledgeable of issues relating to client projects concerning intellectual property, data protection, employment and dispute regulation laws. Internally you will also provide assistance when required to the HR and finance seniors and will very much be viewed at the Middle East regional legal expert.

Requirements

Candidates are expected to be a law graduate with at least 4 years of in-house expertise as apposed to a legal firm. Those with exposure to commercial, IP, Data protection and DR legalities are highly advantageous for this position. You will take a pragmatic and swift approach to the workload and be able to work independently to produce documents and advise quickly and accurately, alongside integrating with the wider team in Dubai and the legal team in the UK.
